hey Choir kids!
Nationally ranked choral/music composers gather at workshops to sell their music to directors...... that's how they make their living and how they get their music to the public.
There are many publishers/music shops and the Southern Ca. Branch of Pepper Music hosts one of these every year. 2 years ago, students Emily Jindra and Matt Silver, both of whom are now in Madrigals at Tesoro, attended, the John Jacobson Workshop and they danced/sang the entire session. They were able to give me the 'student' perspective on the songs and were able to help choose a few selections. (Proud Mary was one of them).
THE JOY OF SINGING sponsored by JW pepper. The event is Tuesday - July 20th
cost is $40 per student which includes lunch. Many directors bring their students to this session :-)
time is 9 am to 4 pm
locale - Norwalk Marriott right off the 5 frwy
I have room in my car for 4 students and can pick you up from LFMS at 8am. My students paid cash/checks that morning, however, I will inquire.

Wear your choir t-shirt and/or comfortable DANCE attire.
